Joseph A. Guzman

Master Franchise Owner

Joseph A. Guzman is the System4 Master Franchisee for the Sacramento/Reno area. Mr. Guzman came to System4 after 30 years in various corporate arenas. Mr. Guzman retired from AT&T in 1998, after having served as Vice President of Latin American operations, and as President and Managing Director of AT&T Communications Mexico. Mr. Guzman worked for AT&T in various locations, including New Jersey, Washington D.C., Mexico City and Miami.

In 1998, Mr. Guzman joined a new company, Global Crossing, which built a worldwide, undersea fiber optic telecom network. Mr. Guzman was responsible for negotiating and securing approvals from governments in Latin America for the rights to land undersea cables, to build terrestrial connections to major cities and for licenses that would permit the company to operate telecommunications services in each country. He was named Chief Operations Officer for Global Crossing, Latin America in 2000. In 2001, he left Global Crossing and moved to the Lake Tahoe area of California. In 2002, Mr. Guzman joined the Board of TVC Telecom in Miami, and in 2003, the Board of ValuePop S.A. de C.V., Mexico.

Mr. Guzman is a native of California. He graduated from California State University, Hayward, California with a BS in Finance. He currently lives in Truckee, California with his wife, Alicia. They have three grown sons, all living in San Diego.
