Jim Atkinson
Master Franchise Owner
Jim Atkinson attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill on a baseball scholarship. His team finished third in the College World Series in 1978, and he was voted Baseball Player of the Year in the ACC in 1979. That year he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals and played in their minor league organization until 1983.
Jim began his professional career in 1983 as a new accounts representative for Imperial Spinning Mills,
a yarn manufacturing company based in Sanford NC. In 1987, he accepted a position in the funds management department of North Carolina National Bank working with bond sales, servicing community banks throughout the southeastern United States. While employed at NCNB, he earned his Series 7 brokerage license. Jim is an Organizer of CapitalMark Bank and Trust, a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Investment/ALCO and Human Resources committees.
In 1989, Jim and his partners formed Pioneer Yarn Mills where he managed sales for Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama and Canada. He continued to work for Pioneer after its sale in 1993 to
Unifi, Inc., a textile company based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Jim left Unifi in 1997 to co-found Frontier Spinning Mills, one of the largest producers of spun yarns for the knitting and weaving industries in the world.
Jim decided to leave the textile business and after much due diligence and consultation chose to partner with System4. Jim now is the Master Franchise Owner of System4 of Middle Tennessee servicing the metropolitan areas of Chattanooga & Nashville TN as well as Huntsville AL.
