Craig Ackerman brings to the System4 team a solid background in client sales, customer service, marketing and leadership. As President/CEO of Professional Furniture Service Inc and Leather Technicians in Valley Stream NY, Craig’s innovative ideas, proprietary software designs and dedication to excellence drove the company to a new level in the industry.
After earning his degree in economics from SUNY-Binghamton in 1981, Craig joined the family business to learn from the ground up. He began in operations and quickly moved into sales, servicing large customers such as Sears, Bloomingdales and Lord & Taylor. By 1985, Craig was managing 45 technicians covering four states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania while operating an office overseeing 20 customer service reps. He created and designed the first proprietary software in the industry targeting scheduling and servicing issues. To further expand the reach of the business, in 1989 he was instrumental in the launch of a new endeavor, Leather Technicians, where the focus was on leather repair and restoration. In 1996, he became Vice President of the two companies and directed and coordinated all internal operations and the sales force. In 2001, he purchased the family business and assumed the role of President/CEO.
After 25 years in the business, Craig decided it was time to take on a new challenge and began researching business opportunities where his experience and business acumen could be used to the best advantage. After exploring a wide variety of prospects, Craig chose System4 based on their business model, innovative technology and corporate culture. Craig became the Master Franchise Owner of System4 of Long Island serving Nassau County and opened his doors for business in September 2009.
