Ken Mattuck
General Manager
Ken brings over 30 years of sales and marketing experience to the System4 team. After graduating from Northern Illinois University in the late 70’s with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, he spent 7 successful years in the plastics industry in several different sales roles. Initially, he was a salesperson with a melt heater manufacturer; he then became a regional manager for a large plastic container manufacturer.
In the mid-80’s, Ken received an offer to join a manufacturer’s rep agency in the heating, air conditioning & refrigeration industry as a sales rep. After initial training Ken hit the road covering accounts in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin for his firm. Ken really honed his sales skills and gathered great experience during this time.
In the early 90’s Ken grew tired of working for someone else and decided to open his own independent rep agency. Initially it was tough, but with hard work and patience Ken’s following grew and so did his agency and his income. Ken eventually merged his agency with another prominent rep agency to form one of the largest HVAC rep agencies in the Midwest.
By 2010, Ken had accomplished about all he could in the HVAC industry and decided it was time to reinvent himself. So Ken began researching different business opportunities, mostly within the franchise industry. Ken has always liked food so he began his search with companies like Buffalo Wild Wings, Culvers, and Jimmy Johns to name a few. Ken didn’t feel the ROI was there in those types businesses so he continued his search. After about 6 months of research, Ken learned of master franchising and ultimately System4. It was then the light bulb went on. Ken thought: “This is it; I’ve found what I was looking for.”It was the industry experience of the System4 management team and the SMARTS operating software that sold Ken.
Ken is excited to be a member of the System4 team and looks forward to using his experience to help individuals realize their dreams of becoming successful business owners too. Ken believes System4 is positioned for significant growth in the Chicago market and hopes one day to make it one the largest commercial cleaning providers in Chicagoland.
